BKS Iyengar is a venerated figure in the world of yoga whose influence and life's work will shine and inspire for generations to come. After the death of his daughter Geeta in December 2018, his son Prashant, Granddaughter Abhijata, and Sr Students carry on his work and inspiration at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India. http://bksiyengar.com
Though I hold a Senior Certificate in Iyengar Yoga, I do not know what it means to teach 'Iyengar Yoga'. I can only teach yoga according to my own understanding of what BKS Iyengar shared and taught to his pupils. Whether or not this conforms to a sanctioned definition of 'Iyengar Yoga', I cannot say. Perhaps others can. What I teach is informed by my own unique life experiences, character, capacities and limitations as a human being. My life has been dedicated to an uninterrupted study and practice of yoga in the tradition of BKS Iyengar for more than 25 years, but I do not know what label can be given to this pursuit. I do not wish to distinguish myself from others.
